Strafford - New Durham State Rep District Elections
Strafford's New State Representative District is comprised of Strafford and New Durham. Two seats are shared between the two towns. The Democrats running are Rep. Bob Perry and Joe Cicirelli, both from Strafford.
A Strafford resident for 40 years, Bob Perry was first elected to the NH House of Representatives in 2006. He has served two terms on the House Election Law Committee. He is a retired court Stenographer of 30 years and is a member of the Board of Trustees at the Rochester Opera House. Perry supports campaign finance reform to limit influence of lobbyists in our elections, hack-proof voting machines; right to vote consistent N.H. Constitution; green energy and green jobs; access to health care for all; and quality education.
Perry's legislative highlights include co-authoring HB. 285 and serving on the Ballot Counting Device Advisory Committee to facilitate the design of an electronic ballot-counting device that cannot be hacked, co-sponsoring S.B. 491, a NH jobs bill, establishing a legal preference to NH vendors in the awarding of certain contracts for services which was signed into law by Gov. Lynch on 7/20/10; co-sponsored S.B. 422, a NH green jobs bill, which would allow small, alternative power producers to sell energy to users in brownfields (environmentally contaminated areas) and economically depressed locations.
