Nancy Fraher, Democrat for State Senate in 2020
The 2020 Democratic candidate for State Senate in the district representing Strafford was Nancy Fraher, a retired teacher from Chichester. She has run for this office before (and been a guest at our committee meetings). This experienced candidate is drawn to public service by a strong sense of civic duty inspired by her father, a World War II veteran who often reminded her that he spent three years in a foxhole so she could vote. Fraher is a graduate of Plymouth State College (University) with a degree in Elementary Education and minor in History. She taught for 33 years in Candia, where she was Union President for many years. Previously, she taught for two years for the Department of Defense in Germany. Fraher has been a member and chair of The Chichester School Board and a member and chair of SAU 53 School Board. She also has served as Chichester School Moderator. She has lived in the town of Chichester for the past 28 years with her husband, Jerry, a State Employee. Following in her mother’s footsteps, their daughter Suzanne is a teacher in Manchester.
